An international exhibition championing artisanal talent, Homo Faber Event showcases an impressive variety of materials, techniques and skills through live demonstrations, immersive digital experiences and imaginative displays of handcrafted creations. From functional everyday objects to outstanding decorative pieces, the event highlights craft’s role in creating a more sustainable and inclusive future. This edition celebrates the “living treasures” of craftsmanship through 15 exceptional exhibitions which invite visitors to discover the connection between Europe and Japan. Imagined by a team of world-renowned curators and designers, the event transforms the magnificent spaces of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, as well as offering visitors the chance to experience craftsmanship right across Venice.
Beyond the walls of Fondazione Giorgio Cini, visitors to Homo Faber Event can go on a unique, self-guided journey through Venice to discover the creativity and savoir-faire embedded within its streets. Over 60 Venetian artisan workshops, ateliers, museums and galleries open their doors to visitors, offering immersive experiences, courses, exhibitions and more. Using the website or app, create a bespoke tour or follow one of the suggested thematic itineraries. Programme to be unveiled end of January 2022.
Homo Faber is the premier event organised by the Michelangelo Foundation, an international non-profit institution based in Geneva, Switzerland, which champions contemporary craftspeople worldwide with the aim of promoting a more human, inclusive and sustainable future.
